In 2015, Wendy and David traveled to Ecuador and fell in love with the country’s natural landscape. They began to imagine moving there from New York. In their search for a home, they met Sean Kelly and his wife Dahiana Cedeno, who had moved from California and the technology and apparel sectors respectively, to Ecuador to start a family. Sean and Dahiana had been living full-time in the small coastal town of Puerto Cayo for 4 years and developing a small real estate project there. As such, they were eager to connect with others who might appreciate Puerto Cayo’s quiet charm.
“Upon meeting, we quickly recognized our shared love of Ecuador’s natural abundance and interest in exploring the potential of Puerto Cayo, not only as a place to live peacefully and harmoniously with nature but also as a space in which to experiment with ideas about healthful living. Emboldened by each other’s enthusiasm, we imagined developing not just one or two homes but a small community of residences to be populated by like-minded individuals also interested in exploring the richness of Puerto Cayo and Ecuador.“
